Tea Sector: Introduction of a Winter Allowance to compensate the shortfall in production of tea leaves during winter period
This year, some 1 120 tea planters benefitted from the Winter Allowance amounting to the tune of Rs 7 million. This allowance is in line with the objective of the Government to support tea growers and encourage them to continue their plantations.

​Nesocodon Mauritianus
​​Re-introduction of Nesocodon mauritianus plant at Montagne Cocotte on 28th April 2022. The Nesocodon mauritianus is a very rare edemic plant which was first discovered atcascade 500 pieds,  situated not far from Mt Cocotte.  Ten Nesocodon mauritianus plants were introduced by NPCS officers during a micromanagement exercise where cultural operations are performed to protect critically endangered plants on situ.​

Address of Honourable Maneesh Gobin, Minister of Agro-Industry and Food Security, National Convener and Member State's Speaker for Mauritius, at the Food Systems Summit called by the UN Secretary-General as part of the Decade of Action to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030. The Summit aims to launch bold new actions to deliver progress on all 17 SDGs, each of which relies to some degree on healthier, more sustainable and equitable food systems.
The Summit focuses on the fact that we all must work together to transform the way the world produces, consumes and thinks about food. It is a solutions summit that will require everyone to act and  transform the world’s food systems.​
