Tea Sector: Introduction of a Winter Allowance to compensate the shortfall in production of tea leaves during winter period
This year, some 1 120 tea planters benefitted from the Winter Allowance amounting to the tune of Rs 7 million. This allowance is in line with the objective of the Government to support tea growers and encourage them to continue their plantations.

​Nesocodon Mauritianus
​​Re-introduction of Nesocodon mauritianus plant at Montagne Cocotte on 28th April 2022. The Nesocodon mauritianus is a very rare edemic plant which was first discovered atcascade 500 pieds,  situated not far from Mt Cocotte.  Ten Nesocodon mauritianus plants were introduced by NPCS officers during a micromanagement exercise where cultural operations are performed to protect critically endangered plants on situ.​
