Fumigation for quarantine purposes

  • The Entomology Division provides a paid service for the treatment of selected goods intended for either import or export in the port area. Interested persons should fill in an application form 

    (    Download Word version / Pdf version)  and an Agreement form  (Download Word version / Pdf version).

  •  The forms can be posted to:

      may be faxed on (230) 464 8749 or emailed. An Officer of the Division will contact the applicant.

  • For treatment, a site is selected in the port area. The chemical used is Aluminium phosphide. Treatment lasts for five days, during which the container doors are kept properly sealed and cannot be moved out of the fumigation site. A treatment certificate will then be issued.

  • The cost for treating goods in a 20 ft container is Rs 500​.
