Agricultural ServicesAnimal Production Division
▪ Assist in the development of policies and strategies for the livestock sector. ▪ Formulate and implement breeding strategies for cattle, goats, sheep, pigs and poultry (broiler chicken and ducks) in order to ensure availability of breeding stock for all categories of farmers. ▪ Ensure the traceability of livestock from farm to slaughterhouse to tackle issues such as inefficiency of insemination programmes, poor source verification at abattoir, insufficient monitoring of animal diseases and animal movement, livestock thefts, illegal slaughter…etc
SectionsTo achieve its mandate, the Animal Production Division administers the following projects/units:
Services ▪ Application for purchase of chicks, ducklings, cattle weaners and sheep weaners. ▪ Price list of produce by the Animal Production Division.
▪ Registration of premises under the National Livestock Information System (NLIS)
A. Registration of Farm
a) if you are the owner or lessee of the land on which the farm is located
b) if you occupy land owned by a third party for farming
c) if you own livestock kept on a registered farm owned by a third party
B. Registration of Quarantine Station and Isolation facility
C. Registration of Slaughterhouse (Poultry)
D. Registration of Slaughterhouse (Other than Poultry)
E. Registration of Game Handling facility
